Pingniner Compared

Written to be useful rather than flattering. Each one says plainly where the other product is the better choice, because a comparison page that finds nothing good to say about a competitor is not telling you anything.

Pingniner vs UptimeRobot

UptimeRobot is the best-known name in uptime monitoring and its free plan is genuinely hard to beat on volume. The difference is scope: UptimeRobot watches things from the outside, and Pingniner also watches the machines themselves.

Pingniner vs Better Stack

Better Stack is an observability platform — monitoring, on-call scheduling, incident management and log management in one product. Pingniner is a monitoring tool. If you need the platform, buy the platform. If what you actually need is to know when things break, the platform is a lot of machinery to carry.

Pingniner vs Pingdom

Pingdom is the incumbent — the name people reach for when they think "uptime monitoring", now part of SolarWinds. It is aimed at a larger buyer than Pingniner is, and it is priced and packaged accordingly.

Pingniner vs Site24x7

Site24x7 monitors more things than we do — servers, networks, applications, containers, cloud resources, logs. It is a genuinely capable platform. The cost of that breadth is a pricing model with several monitor categories, add-on packs and per-resource rates, and a product surface to match.

Pingniner vs Oh Dear

Oh Dear is the closest thing on this list to a peer. Their website monitoring is excellent and covers very nearly the same ground as ours — uptime, certificates, broken links, mixed content, scheduled tasks, DNS, Lighthouse. The differences are what sits either side of the website, and how each of us charges.

Pingniner vs Cronitor

Cronitor started with cron jobs and it shows — it is the better tool for watching scheduled work in depth, collecting metrics and logs from each run. Pingniner treats heartbeats as one monitor type among seven, and charges a flat plan rather than per monitor.

Competitor details were read from each vendor's own pricing page on 28 August 2026. Pricing moves — check theirs before you decide.

The only comparison that settles it
