Where Pingniner is different
A bill you can predict
Better Stack's pricing combines responder seats, monitor bundles and the volume of data you send it. That is a sensible model for a platform and a genuinely difficult one to forecast. Pingniner charges for a plan; the plan says how many monitors and how many people, and nothing you do inside it changes the invoice.
Host metrics without a data pipeline
Watching a server's disk usage in Better Stack means shipping telemetry and paying for the volume of it. In Pingniner a server is a monitor, like a website is a monitor, and it costs the same as one.
Small enough to fit
An observability platform expects you to have an on-call rotation, an incident process and log retention policies. Plenty of teams have none of those and still need to know when the site is down. Pingniner is built for that team.
Blacklist and workstation monitoring
Two things Better Stack does not do at all: watching whether your mail server has landed on a DNSBL, and keeping an eye on the laptops and desktops your team actually works on.

Rotations, escalation policies, acknowledgement, hand-offs. Pingniner sends alerts to the people you nominate and stops there. If you need a rota, they have one and we do not.
Logs and observability
Better Stack ingests and searches logs alongside the monitoring. When a check fails, having the logs in the same place is genuinely valuable, and it is not something we do.
Built for scale
Their model handles very large monitor counts more gracefully than a tiered plan does. At a few hundred monitors and up, that is worth looking at seriously.
A bigger team behind it
More engineers, more integrations, more of everything. For some buyers that is the deciding factor, and it is a fair one.

Does Pingniner do on-call scheduling?
No. Alerts go to the contacts attached to each trigger, through whichever channels those people have set up. There are no rotations or escalation policies.
Can Pingniner replace Better Stack entirely?
If you use it for uptime monitoring and status pages, yes. If you use it for logs or on-call, no — those are different products and we do not have them.
How does the pricing actually compare?
