Where Pingniner is different
The bill does not follow the monitor count
At Cronitor's published $2 per monitor, thirty monitors is $60 a month before you add anyone to the team. The same thirty on Pingniner is $6, and adding the thirty-first costs nothing until you reach the plan limit.

For knowing whether a scheduled job ran when it should have, yes. For run-level metrics and logs, or real user monitoring, no.
How do Pingniner heartbeats work?
You give us a schedule and a URL to ping. If the ping does not arrive when expected, an alert opens. It is deliberately simple and it covers most of why people monitor cron.
Is the price comparison fair?
It is their published rate multiplied out, and it excludes their per-user charge, so if anything it understates the gap. Below five monitors both are free, and past a few hundred their model scales where our plans stop.
